E4OD to ZF-5 Swap

I have a 90 Bronco with a 351 and an E4OD in it and I'm swapping in a ZF-5. So, I have a couple of questions:
1. Will the transfer case from the E4OD bolt up to the ZF5?
2. I have an F-150 with an inline six and a MDO5 in it to use for parts, will the dust cover from between the engine and flywheel fit the ZF5?
3. Will the transmission cross member from the MDO5 work for the ZF5?
Thanks, Robert.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes, the holes should already be in the frame also.

I just ZFed my 94, hopefully your parts truck is of the same generation 87-91 or 92-96 as your Bronco then all the parts will swap over

does switching to a ZF do anything to the computer? Does it need to be reprogrammed...also, are there vacuum lines that need to be plugged?

The computer just thinks you are sitting still all the time after you swap for the ZF... If it bothers you that the computer is wrong, swap for an F250 351 computer.

Well, you can't reprogram our computers, but for the most part it shouldn't have any ill-effects on it. Maybe you'll get a higher idle because it will be expecting TC load, but from what I understand, it should drop it back down a bit. If not, there's some tweaking you can do with your TPS/TB.

Smile

I got the swap done last week, wow what a difference . I did swapped out the computer as well as the E4OD wiring harness for one from the donor truck’s M5OD.

The wiring harness that goes between the green connector on the left inter fender to the back-up light plug on the transmission and the plugs on the transfer case.

What kind of difference is there in felt power? Is it pretty drastic from the E4OD? More power is always good, but I really like the auto for crawling with the Bronco's relatively high gears (makes things much more smooth).

How does the typical ZF-5 shift? The last one I had I remember it being really notchy; however, it was in a diesel, and it had been through hell and back numerous times...

Power is awesome. It's easy to lite up my 35's through first and into second with 3.55 gears. Wheelin is great too. I can start in any gear in low range and just crawl along in first or second. I really like it

It is pretty drastic change. It fells like the engine has a lot more power than it did, bear in mind the old E4OD was petty much shot, the clutches where gone and the T/C was shot. The ZF-5 shifts great, wish I had done 6 mouths ago were I bought the ZF.

So runing the E4oD computer with the manual trans works? I would thinking it would kick a light on.
