Raf, it was a pleasure introducing you to Truckhaven. Hopefully you'll be ready in time for TDS. I'm goin for sure.

I understand how it is when you're trying to get a rig running that just wants to be a biatch. Good luck with it. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

just got the call.. the tranny is toast... $2800 to rebuild whats left of it and add a new torque converter.. the culprit was the tranny cooler that is in the radiator.. i added a seperate cooler but i didnt bother to bypass the crappy cooler in the radiator..

the fluid wasnt able to flow and thats why it got as hot as it did and boiled out of the fill hole. im still undecided as to what im going to do. there is no way im dishing out that amount of money to fix it.. other options come to mind but at the time i dont think i have the patience for them.

imagine having morning wood and then this happens-->

thats how im feeling at the moment.. my noooooooooootz

i know we talked about this before ryan and you mentioned a computer out of a t-bird or something.. this was well over a year ago.. how confident are you in what you have learned about the swap since then. in a scale of 1 to 10.. 1 being the first fan harness you sent me and 10 being the 2nd fan harness you sent me...

any info is appreciated..

I know where there is a C6 from an '82 right this minute. I'll bet I can get it for you very, very cheap. It's sitting in a buddy of mine's yard right now. The tranny is in Hemet.

Edit: It was running and driving before he started parting it out.

Last I checked, there is no rewiring to be done.
All the engine controls are on the same terminal locations
Simply plug in the new computer, ignor the old trans wiring under the truck

Just the cost of the computer, $50-$200 depending on your shoping skills.
