woot sag pump swapped in

with some help from Will (kf4amu) swapped it in about 2 hours, plus fixed some electical issues

so got a sag pump from a 86 econoline at the upullit.......20 bucks

now the interesting thing is that i found one from a 87 econo serp belt that didnt have the right mount, i thought all of them fit.......

so anyway, picked up a high pressure hose from advance that fits the van
(these need a little bending to line up to the box since these are meant for the vans)........15 bucks

replaced the low pressure hose as well.......12 bucks.. plus 3 dollars for clamps.....left the stock line attached to the box that wraps around for cooling

2 dollar fluid

i made sure to keep the compressor bolts from the van (Will thought the threads were different from the broncos but we didnt check)

i know someone was talking about drilling out something, but mine didnt require any of that

also the factory belt fit fine

so 50 bucks all said and done

and thanks for the help Will

ill get pics if anyone wants but i think everyones seen them before

check the fluid?
You may have gotten an air pocket out of the line and now its low.
Only time I have heard a sag whine is if its low on fluid. If the one in my 79 F350 is even slightly low it whines like the Ford pump. Otherwise its totally quiet

Yea its funny. Mine is totally silent, we went lock to lock about a dozen times. The fluid should be recycled, it looks pretty dirty, so maybe if he puts some synthetic in, it will get quieter, but its still an improvement.

Here you go.
Picture of the two common sizes of Saginaw pump pulleys

GM pulleys are usually 6.5" diameter

The Ford C2 and Saginaw pulleys are about 5.75" diameter

Yes those 87 van mounts are way weird...
