This is mainly for 78/79 Broncos with M blocks but also early 80's that had M blocks up till mid 82 when Ford phased out them out.
Stock Sag brackets and pump with a york compressor.
I used the stock sag brackets pulled from a 78 LTD with a 400. I added .25x1.5" plate to extend the pump further away from the engine. The plate is bolted in both of the stock pump holes which are in the water pump. Where the pump pivot goes in is right thru the lowest bracket which holds up the York. I used All thread as the bolt for now with a nut on the end.
When I welded the plate to the stock adjustment bracket I had the pivot bolt tightened so it would line it up. The adjustment maxes out when the resevour touches the york intake lines. I used a Dayco 17525 belt for this. 17520 is way too short, 17530 is way too long. The 17525 is tight but you can turn the engine over a bit to get it on the pulley then it is plenty loose and you have room to tighten the belt as it breaks in over time.
As far as the filler on the tank my plans are for extending it to the top of the york and keeping the pump filled up higher so I get no air introduced while it is running.
As a Side note. I am running a hydro assist that I did myself. The cooler I am going to be using is about 10x12 inches as well as a hydro filter to keep the system cleaned out.
