Talking <Tranny Tunnel/Bridge Project> (Pics)

Started the tranny tunnel project.. Not sure if its a tunnel or bridge.. Whatever it is i started it. .

Problem was that the driveshaft hit the tranny mount when the drivers side tire drooped.. i will be getting a driveshaft from highangledriveline.com to allow me to take advantage of the coilovers i put up front.

i might modify the right bottom side where it curves in.. it doesnt get in the way so i might just leave it..

pics..

this is my first project using the torch to cut the steel.. its 1/2" thick steel. took a while to figure it out but i got it..

test fit

gussets, gussets everywhere!!!!!

flip it over and chop....

flip it back over and stare at it.. i dont like where it curves ..

painted.. aint it purdyy... gonna drop the tranny tomorrow and change the torque converter, rear main seal, front pump seal etc..

Hey while you're playing around under there. Fab up some simple shield to keep drivshaft failure and picked up debree from hitting the fuel lines and trans linkage,

A few folks have had major probs with stuff like that, and you'd be way cooler if you had the cure

Damn, I really need to learn how to weld. I would love to fab up my own stuff like that.

Looks awesome. Keep up the good work.

BTW, Take pics of the torque converter and seal changes, I'd like to see it.

Bronco Info: Sold Bronco, but still live in the off topic threads

Where do you get your steel at?
I am so stupid I wouldnt even know where to go to buy steel if I even knew how to weld.
Sorry probably a really lame ass question.
