Glad u figured it out. Mine is a slow mover too, but hasn't been but 125* tops. I've only drivin to and from work (25 miles, 15 miles of it on the hwy at 70 mph). I do plan on pulling a 7000 pound load with it this weekend though (about 50 miles one way) so I'll see how hot it gets then. I'll let u know how it does. (mine is a F-150, not a bronco)

Sounds good. Make sure you provide detail on the truck as well. I do plan to "set the stage" with what all my truck has for cooling for comparison with readings others like yourself provide. And for some reason I was thinking you are in Cali., but I see you're in ND, so now I understand why you aren't exactly seeing temps much off the bottom either. Wait till winter, your gauge is going to start working counterclockwise.

Yep up here in ND. Gets kinda cold from time to time. Lol. This weekend will be the first time I've ever pulled a trailer with this rig, as I've only had it a month or so. I did install a Transgo shift kit in my trans though, so that might be helping in keeping it cool, I'll find out forsure on sunday. I'll put up the specs on the cooling system then too.

Log so far:

11/17/09 sunny 50*, roads clear, local trip to store, 4mi. each way, 120* max.
11/18/09 sunny 54*, roads clear, local trips, 2 very short stops, 26mi. total, just over an hour, just a hair under 150* after the second stop is when it finally built to this temp and stayed there. So the tranny is slow to warm when outside temps are cooler.

I'm beginning to think outside air will keep it at 150* or less during winter, unless going through snow or going into mountains. just won't build heat. I'd also guess that a summer 90* day would see the same driving produce around 185* temp (this is where the front cooler has to start earning it's money since the outside air is much warmer and not helping nearly as much with cooling.

Please excuse me in advance for possibly a retarded question, and thread-jack.

Will this write up be the same for a C6?

The discussion on the temp gauge and wiring would certainly apply. but, I don't know if the C6 would have the drivers side test port for the sensor, you'd have to go peek for yourself. The E4OD is "based" off a C6, just with OD and electronics, so I dunno???

On my C6, I have it hooked up to the rear trans cooler line. I really don't remember why I chose that one, but it works good. O and sorry bout the typos in my last post, I'm on my Blackberry, and it wasn't lettin me see what I was typing. It should have said B&M guage kit, not !&. Guage kit. Lol.
