VA Inspection Question

I don't know if it's just me... but last time I went to get Bayley inspected, I was told to throw the front sway back on to pass. Mind you she's stock. Has anyone in VB or VA had the same problem? I know some ppl that have lifted their trucks and didn't have to put sways back on.

I never heard of anyone having to do that before, most places that I go to don't even look. Do you have any pics of the tires?

i dont have one and never had problem. although state police looked it over one time at a shop it was at and gave me list of crap to fix. hole in floor, ghetto steering wheel, exhaust and crack around steering box-which i hadnt seen so that was good i guess. But said nothing about sway bar, lift or tires and i had 38's then

most shops would bust you if you had sway bar disconnects but as far as the sway bar being completly gone I dont think many people would pay any attention to

First let me say I don't know crap about VA inspections in particular, but I'm inclined to say you should just go to a different inspection place. In NC many, many, many inspections places are rip off joints just looking to soak you for any B.S. small item they can talk you into. I had one inspection place fail me one time and tell me that I needed a new catalytic converter, and it would cost $300. The cat's only problem was that it had a small pin hole poked in it. I laughed in the guys face, drove the truck home, welded up the hole, and was back to their shop in fifteen minutes. They had no choice but to pass me, and they were pissed about it because I beat them at their own game. The only thing that would have made it sweeter would have been if I had an on board welder and could have done it in their parking lot! But anyway, back to your issue, dinking you for no sway bar is bullshit. Lots of trucks never even had one from the factory, it was an option.

I agree with Dave. Go someplace different. I've never had anyone do a smog test either.
